I was thrilled ( and a little terrified if I must admit!)  to be asked to recreate Archie in miniature for Silly Bears in Aberdeen as part of the 'Olde Time Favourites'

Julieann Bruce, the owner of Silly Bears has been an avid collector of teddy bears almost all her life and  she has asked 3 bear artists to to do their interpretation of some of her favourite bears. Archie  was chosen for me and Wee Archie as he will be called is the end result ! He will be a limited edition of 25  and will come wearing a little scarf with a Silly Bears button numbering him. Wee Archie is 3.5inches (9cm) and is made from gold velvet plush, has small black glass eyes, and an off-centred black stitched nose. Wee Archie is a replica of a 1960's Bajka Toymaking Co-operative Works bear from Lublin, south-east Warsaw. The original Archie is the proprietor of Silly Bears (Julieann's), pram teddy bear. Each Wee Archie has been carefully replicated by Jean to portray all the original features, including his off-centred nose and short stick arms and legs. Wee Archie is a fond childhood memory and wears his 'SB' button on his green velvet scarf so elegantly!
